Dr. Abu-Zahra has 10+ years of experience as a practicing pediatric hospitalist in the Inland Empire in both community and academic hospital settings.
Dr. Abu-Zahra is double board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) in general pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist medicine and is a fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Abu-Zahra graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Furthermore, Dr. Abu-Zahra has worked at a tertiary care academic centers and community centers as a hospitalist on the pedatric ward and newborn nursery. As well as ED consults in the community centers. He also works in primary care in his off weeks.
Dr. Abu-Zahra is the former chair of pediatrics at two of the community hospitals. He is involved in quality improvement projects, policy renewal, medical executive committee, as well as pediatric hospitalist standard of care practices and several other committees.
He started his consulting company HilalMD in March of 2020.
